Organisational Details

Why AFRIHERO is different from other organizations with similar remits

  • We are a 24/7 virtual organization which enables us to respond quickly to stakeholders’ needs, to develop and disseminate e-textbooks,  academic and professional journals, published papers, research reports, policy briefings and capacity building resources.
  • With all modesty, we see ourselves as a 21st century global network of disciplined problem solvers, who delight in facing down immense theoretical and practical challenges concerning leading organizations in Africa and developing countries.
  • We take particular care to respond to the needs of students and young faculty members in higher educational institutions alongside high-level academic needs of older staff. Hence, we supervise and advise them on their research and PhD programmes and help them build vital skills that improve their contributions to national development, see the section on Skills for Students, Graduates and Start-Ups (SSGS).
  • We understand world educational, economic and political systems and their associated problems. With this understanding we bring sophisticated detail to bear on individual country problems, in addition to wider strategic awareness of the nature of such problems.

The fundamental principles that define the AFRIHERO Way include:

  • Putting a country’s or clients’ interests first, with a critical and forensic understanding of the presenting and substantive problems facing them
  • Using the best blend of intuition, data, facts and strategic intelligence in crafting effective and lasting solutions to the most critical and challenging client problems, with an eye on what works well, cheaper, within time, within budget, and up to the best quality. That is, we do not glory in methods.
